Kishau Rogers is a trailblazing technology leader, engineer turned multi-venture entrepreneur, strategic advisor, and impact-driven investor with a deep commitment to solving complex problems and empowering leaders. Throughout her career, she has built and deployed technology solutions for hundreds of U.S. organizations, driving innovation, delivering results, and navigating funding models ranging from bootstrapping and grants to raising over $10M in venture capital. As the Founder and CEO of Time Study, Kishau Rogers made history as the first Black woman in Virginia to raise over $1 million in venture capital.
She is also the Owner and Creative Director of Websmith Studio, a creative innovation lab exploring the intersection of creativity, culture, and human-centered technology. Her work as an educator includes developing curriculum and leading training initiatives that have reached thousands of emerging technology professionals and students across more than 20 countries. Her practice centers on driving innovation, applying systems thinking, and preparing the next generation of leaders who will shape the future.

Why I Do What I Do
Technology is a tool, not a cure-all. My journey from engineer to tech entrepreneur taught me that the toughest challenges are rarely technical—they’re human. They demand understanding people, navigating complex systems, and addressing inequities that obstruct meaningful progress.
My work focuses on applying systems thinking, creative intelligence, and technology (when appropriate) to develop transformative solutions that drive innovation, foster meaningful change, and ultimately redefine who shapes the future. What I’m Working On Now
I’m currently focused on projects that explore the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and creative and cultural intelligence. My recent work includes crafting strategies to bring ideas to market quickly, scaling AI-driven platforms, and guiding early-stage entrepreneurs and leaders in fostering entrepreneurial skills. I’m also supporting initiatives that blend art, movement, creativity, and resilience to drive innovation, professional growth, and meaningful impact.
On a personal note, I’m a proud mom to two gifted kids and the self-proclaimed “conductor of band camp,” navigating life surrounded by musicians and creatives. I’m also rediscovering my own creative spark through blogging, world-building, genealogy, dance/movement therapy—and keeping my plant collection alive (mostly).
How I Give Back
I co-lead The Kishau & Bernard Rogers Foundation, a family giving initiative focused on advancing creativity, innovation, and equity. Our work supports artists, entrepreneurs, and community-centered organizations that are building outside of traditional systems and reimagining what’s possible.
Our giving focuses on three areas: helping creators make a living at art, supporting accessible innovation through creative and systems-based approaches, and investing in organizations that address root causes to strengthen under-supported communities. This foundation reflects our shared commitment to investing in long-term, transformative work.
