Websmith Studio (WSS) launched its Student Innovation Program in 2014, providing curriculum and training experiences for students of technology. Core components of the curriculum has been extended to platforms and organizations such as ECPI, O’Reilly Media and WAAW (Working to Advance Science and Technology Education for African Women) Foundation. For example, in 2016, Dr. Unoma Okorafor, Kishau Rogers and Vanessa Oguamanam co-founded SheHacks Africa, an engineering intensive to train women & girls. The program is hosted by WAAW Foundation, training women across Africa, via over 25 cohorts. Since 2014, components of this curriculum has served over 5,000 youth across the globe through SheHacks Africa, O’Reilly Safari Online and WSS Student Innovation.
