Think of us
White House Hackathon for Foster Care
Think of Us is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of foster children and transitioning foster youth. In 2015, we conceived an event to bring key stakeholders in the foster care industry together, to brainstorm ways to leverage technology to improve the lives of youth in care. This was a partnership between the Department of Health and Human Services and the aforementioned Think of Us. In May 2016, we launched the first ever White House Hackathon for foster youth, held during Foster Care Awareness month.
SOCIAL IMPACT:
The event resulted in the first update to federal tech and foster care regulations in 25 years; 8 million dollars in commitment of action.
